Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your stamps, photos, folders and boards are stored on your device.
• Kitte does not run its own servers and does not collect analytics or advertising identifiers.
• We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone.
• Owl Post is the one feature that publishes anything about you, and only if you choose to use it.

Photos you add

When you create a stamp, Kitte uses the photo you capture or choose. That image is processed on your device and saved inside Kitte’s private storage.

Kitte only accesses your photo library when you explicitly pick a photo, and only accesses the camera when you open the in-app camera.

Location

If you allow location access, stamps are tagged with the coordinates where they were captured, and those coordinates are turned into a place name using iOS system APIs running on your device.

Neither the coordinates nor the resolved place name are sent to us. The one exception is the optional home location described under Owl Post below.

Owl Post

Owl Post lets friends send stamps to each other. It is optional, and Kitte is fully usable without it.

To receive stamps in-app you claim a handle. Doing so publishes your handle, your display name, your profile photo if you set one, and your home location if you set one, to a shared directory hosted in Apple’s CloudKit so that other people can find you and address a delivery. Leaving the home location blank keeps it private — deliveries still work.

Stamps sent to you, and the messages attached to them, pass through Apple’s CloudKit on their way to your device. If you enable notifications, Apple’s push service is used to tell you when a delivery lands.

You can instead share stamps as .kittepost files over AirDrop, Messages or Mail, which involves no directory and no account at all.

iCloud sync & backup (Kitte Pro)

If you subscribe to Kitte Pro and turn on iCloud Sync & Backup, your collection is mirrored to your own private iCloud database using Apple’s iCloud service. This data is tied to your Apple ID and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Kitte’s developers cannot read the contents of your private iCloud database.

If you turn sync off or cancel Kitte Pro, your collection remains on your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by the App Store and by our payments provider, RevenueCat, which processes a non-identifying purchase token to determine whether Kitte Pro is active.

Payment details are handled by Apple and are never seen by Kitte.

Data we do not collect

• We do not collect your email address or your contacts.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not track your location, and we do not build a profile of where you have been.
• We do not read the contents of your collection.

Children

Kitte is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Kitte evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
